I am a dreamer

pasfoto gregor_edited.png

God speaks only to each person once,
before creating them,
and then silently leaves the night with them.
But the words, at the beginning of everyone's life,
those clouded words are as follows:

Sent out by your senses,
go to the edge of your desire;
give me form.
Extend yourself beyond things like a fire,
so that their spread shadows
always cover me entirely.

Let everything happen to you: beauty and terror
Just keep going: no feeling is final.
Don’t shut yourself off.
Near is a land
called Life.

You will recognize it
by its seriousness.

Give me your hand.

Rilke

As a philosopher, I am trained to analyze and interpret stories and language within the context in which they are written. My interest has always been, and continues to be, in addressing existential questions. In the realm of philosophy, I am most drawn to the works of Martin Heidegger and Hannah Arendt. I am increasingly aware of the limitations that language imposes on us, yet I also recognize the power and magic of words when they are arranged in a particular order or presented with new insights or emotions. I am continually discovering in this realm and draw inspiration from the effects of yoga, meditation, breathing, and hypnosis—areas in which I also teach and inspire people to ‘return to Life,’ guided by Joanna Macy’s writings on 'returning to Life'; a life wisdom that my wife and I honor... each in our own unique way.

The time we are living in invites us to look inward and engage in shadow work, in order to liberate our demons and make them our allies. Life also invites us to dream; to become 'awake' or 'lucid' in our dreams and undertake the quest to increasingly perceive and engage with consciousness. This requires us to also awaken from the dream

It is our individual task to align this inner journey with our actions in the external world, and this requires both moral and physical courage. Training our life forces—such as loving self-kindness, trust, and conscious gratitude—is essential.

A profound insight that resonates with me is a quote from Macy: "There is no struggle between 'good' and 'evil,' because the boundary between good and evil runs through the landscape of every human heart. When you understand our essential interconnectedness with all that is—our deep ecology—you realize that everything born from a pure intention impacts the entire web of life, beyond what we can measure or perceive."

For me, returning to Life means bringing my talents to fruition and sharing their fruits with the world, to inspire you to also touch your talents that nourish both yourself and the world, helping it to grow and flourish.

I also create pen drawings, etchings, and linocuts, and together with my wife, I organize inspiring experiential lectures on our consciousness and the greater hidden consciousness that seeks to be known. You can see my work below, also available on my website (www.niedlich.nl).
